The inspiration came from the plants of the wet meadow: marsh thistle, caltha, marsh forget-me-not, broad-leaved cuckoo, shredded bellflower, sharp buttercup, spotted cuckoo, common sedge, snake-root, red fescue, meadow knapweed, drooping avens, European potentilla. Among the plants is also the violet fritillary (butterfly), whose host plant is snake-root.
