The idea was to reference ferns and the color scheme of the tiles in the interior - repeating the bird motif from the tiles. The plants could emerge from a light background with pink shades - in the home, powdery pink and blue were recurring colors. The painting featured the spring flora of May: lilac, forget-me-not, and lily of the valley.
